Introduction to skill interpreters

A skill interpreter is a special type of skill that allows Courier Runner to understand and execute other skills. For example, Courier Runner uses the Shell interpreter to execute shell and PowerShell commands on Linux and Windows nodes. It uses the Chef Infra Client interpreter to interpret and execute Client runs.

Chef Courier supports the following interpreters:

• Chef Infra Client
• Chef Inspec
• Restart
• Shell
